All the bank notes in the denomination of Rs. 100 issued by RBI in the past will continue to be legal tender
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will soon issue bank notes of Rs. 100 note with the rupee symbol in the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005.
These bank notes will bear the rupee symbol on the observe and the reverse with inset letter E in both the numbering panels, bearing the signature of governor D Subbarao, the central bank said in a notification.
The bank notes with the year of printing 2012 on the reverse, will be similar in all respects to the Rs. 100 bank notes in Mahatma Gandhi Series—2005 issued earlier, the notification added.
All the bank notes in the denomination of Rs. 100 issued by RBI in the past will continue to be legal tender, the notification further added.
